Naoto Hidehira, a master student in Ishino-Lab, participated in the Okayama marathon last weekend. He broke his own record with 2:46:57, an excellent time! He will continue his challenges, so we will be rooting for him even after his graduation.
We had a party to honor Ou-san and Pretam-san for finishing their final exams and also to give a farewell to William who is retiring to France. There were some delicious dishes including cheese made in Okayama.
Joint hanami-welcome party with Sakuda, Ishino and Koshio labs. We once again enjoyed the wonderful curry dishes, and this time with rice and milk dessert.
On Feb-15th, we had a curry-party with people from Sakuda, Ishino and Koshio labs. Students from India and Bangladesh cooked authentic curry dishes for everyone. Many of us became hooked with the extremely tasty food. We are all eagerly waiting for the next one at the cherry-blossom party in April!
マルタン・ブシェ(Martin Bucher)先生(パリ・ディドロ大学/天体素粒子・宇宙論研究所)による、” Challenges to ultra-precision CMB polarization measurements to detect primordial gravitational wave from inflation(インフレーションからの原始重力波を検出する超精密CMB偏光測定への挑戦)”と題したセミナーを行いました。
We had a seminar by Assoc. Prof. Guillaume Patanchon of APC, Pairs Diderot University on CMB measurements by Planck. He explained how the Planck satellite was equipped to measure the CMB, how data was analyzed to make such precise measurements of CMB temperature anisotropy, and what that data means to us, in simple but enthusiastic terms. He also gave us a few words on future CMB polarization measurements based on his experience working on Planck.
New school year has started. We had a Hanami party at Hanndayama Botanical Garden. With us is Prof. Krzysztof M. Gorski of JPL who gave a seminar titled “The Future of Cosmology with the CMB”.
