要旨

Landau's Fermi-liquid paradigm breaks down in a number of strongly-correlated electron metals, thereby raising a host of questions concerning the resulting non-Fermi-liquid (NFL) phenomena. Nuclear and muon spin relaxation experiments in f-electron heavy-fermion NFL metals indicate that structural disorder can be a major factor in NFL behavior. Low-field muon spin relaxation rates are strongly correlated with the residual resistivity, becoming very weak in ordered NFL compounds. This low-frequency spectral weight buildup in disordered NFL systems is similar to that observed in spin glasses above the glass temperature, and suggests quantum spin-glass behavior because no glass transition is observed down to the lowest temperatures (20 mK).
